Republicans in Disarray, Blame Democrats For Their Disarray

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) urged Democratic leadership this afternoon to put aside the political posturing and work with Republicans on crafting a real, meaningful bill to provide children from low-income American families vital access to quality health care. "If Democrats are serious about extending the SCHIP program in a responsible, sustainable way, they'll have to start working with House Republicans to craft a bill that can be signed into law. Funny, that Blunt is blaming Democrats, when he could just as easily blame ultra-liberals in the Senate such as...Orin Hatch and Charles Grassley. It seemed at the beginning of the year that if any legislation was likely to get bipartisan backing, children’s health insurance was a good candidate.
