September 2008 primaries seem a long way off All of the Republican presidential candidates except Texas Rep. Ron Paul agreed the U.S. must remain in Iraq as part of war on terror. The Libertarian, turned Republican, turned pacifist, stands with the Democrats on this issue. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney hit a great sound bite with his description of Barack Hussein Obama:“In one week he went from saying he’s going to sit down, you know, for tea, with our enemies, but then he’s going to bomb our allies,” said Romney. “I mean, he’s gone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in one week.” Meanwhile, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, who never saw an illegal to whom he didn't want to give refuge, came down on the side of pettiness, with his auto-dialers going after Romney's long ago position on abortion.
