Oklahoma State receives another gift |

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State University has received another gift aimed at funding positions for professors at the school. The Fran Jabara Family Foundation donated $500,000 yesterday toward funding a professorship focused on entrepreneurship. After the gift is matched through a pledge by billionaire alumnus Boone Pickens and again through a state program, the university will receive $2 million. The foundation is named after Oklahoma State alumnus Fran Jabara, who graduated from the school in 1948. He runs the Wichita, Kansas-based foundation with his wife, Geri, and their three children and says the family was inspired by a multimillion gift from Malone Mitchell III and his wife last week. Yesterday was the final day for gifts toward endowed chairs to qualify for the state’s dollar-for-dollar matching program. [ Full article ] |
