American Idol Top 12 Boys Okay, so without further adieu, here are the recaps of the boys in the order that they sang: David Hernandez - Gah, to be the first one up, that’s gotta be some pressure! He had a strong performance though and I thought it was a great way to start the show off. Paula told him that she knows that it is unnerving to be the first one out of the blocks but she loves his brilliant vocals and his perfect vibrato. She thought he did a good job. Simon was pleasantly surprised that it was actually better than he thought it was going to be. He thought that the first part of the song was terrific, but in the middle he kind of fell apart.
