The CPSC ordered a safety recall on all 2006 through 2008 Kymco MXU 500 All Terrain Vehicles. The ATVs, made in Taiwan, have a problem with the pivot bolts holding the rear suspension onto the frame. They can come loose, causing the rear swing arm to detach from the chassis. There were over 1,300 units sold. You can contact an authorized KYMCO dealer in their area to schedule a free repair. Registered owners were sent direct mail notification of this recall. Consumer Contact: For additional information, consumers can contact KYMCO USA at 888-235-3417 anytime, or visit the firm's web site at www.kymcousa.com.
