The Big Four clubs -- Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United -- have such a stranglehold on the top of the table that the rest of clubs competing in the Premier League are fighting for the crumbs on the table.In this case, those crumbs are UEFA Cup bids. The UEFA Cup is a second-level European tournament that invites clubs that don't quite finish high enough for a Champions League bid and clubs that win their domestic cup competitions. It doesn't bring in as much cash as the Champions League, and some regard it as a burden rather than a prize, but it is international competition, for better or worse.In England, the club that finishes 5th is guaranteed a UEFA Cup bid, as are the clubs that win the FA Cup and the Carling Cup.
