Democrat Mayor Of Atlantic City Pleads Guilty For Fraudulent Military Record

I’m not sure there are many things more pathetic than trying to lay claim to a military service record that you didn’t actually live up to. It’s even worse, though, when you do it to horn in on veteran’s benefits from the government. Benefits that could probably have gone to a soldier that actually deserved them. Atlantic City’s former mayor, Bob Levy, admitted Thursday afternoon to lying about his military record to government officials in order to receive almost $25,000 in benefits. The 60-year-old Levy told U.S. District Judge Jerome B. Simandle that he made false and fraudulent statements and representations concerning his military service during the application process for veteran’s benefits to the Veterans Benefits Administration.
