P&G have in the past been very focussed on using traditional media for advertising and promotion using the product brand. They have, like every other global brand, kept product R&D and market testing and research under tight control. In the last year or so it has changed strategy and is now focussing on openly engaging with consumers directly and interactively rather than discreetly.
