Matthew Kalman of San Francisco Chronicle's Foreign Service writes today about the outcry in Israel over the poor execution of the war. He seems to think that the Israelis won the war, or will win it soon when the UNSC resolution is fully implemented. Yes, and democracy will break out all over the Middle East if the Bush Doctrine is fully implemented. There is only the small matter of the headline in the same edition of the paper that reads "Iraq war has Bush Doctrine in tatters." I think our media is still nicer to Israeli war hawks than it is to our own. Mr Kalman continues... For many Israelis, the arrogance and failure of Olmert and Halutz and their refusal to resign are symptomatic of a country that has lost its sense of spiritual heart and historical mission, replacing them with the mindless pursuit of money, sex and power.
