By Milenko Martinovich WICHITA FALLS -- The Hotter'N Hell Hundred brings all kinds. There are the ultra-competitive cyclists who race for money and state prestige. There are the amateurs who want to see if they can finish their preferred distance under intense heat and fatigue. There are those who use the weekend to rekindle old friendships.Whatever the reason, Saturday's competition -- in its 26th year -- brings in cyclists by the thousands every year. The estimated number of cyclists for this weekend's 14 events was 10,205."In my opinion, this is the best-run, best-organized race there is," Keith Pardew said. "If you want to learn how to put on a race, copy how these guys do it."The 54-year-old Grapevine resident is an authority on the Hotter'N Hell Hundred. Saturday's 100-mile trek marked the 24th year that he has competed in an event.
