Obama's Statement in Support of World Autism Awareness Day |

April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day, and the month of April has been designated as Autism Awareness Month. In recognition, Senator Obama released the following statement this morning: I am proud to add my voice in support of World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month. Autism Spectrum Disorders have quietly become some of the most serious public health issues in the United States and the world today. Autism not only jeopardizes the future of our children, but also has a devastating impact on our families, communities, and on all levels of government here at home and around the world. Today’s celebration of World Autism Awareness Day is a call to action, and the United States must once and for all act quickly and effectively.
