Taken in November 2005 at the Cork Opera HouseAs some may have heard and taken note of, Christie Hennessy died today. I had only recently become fond of Christies music, up until a few years ago he was something of joke character to me. When I went to see him in the Cork Opera House in 2005 with my late father my opinion completely changed. A warm and funny individual, his showmanship was simple but effective. A talented composer and musician, with an abilty to make the beautifulist of songs out of the simplest of structures. There was a short piece on the RT news about Christie. Long enough to be respectful and highlight his passing but short enough not to outstay its welcome.
