Well, it's certainly an emotional roller coaster ride for the folks working in Sony's digital music wing. First the company unveiled a boatload of music players, and then, in their own version of Job's classic "One More Thing," delivered a quiet eulogy for their CONNECT Music Service, set to self-destruct at some time after March of next year. Okay, okay, not self-destruct--phased out. Lost music fans in the US and Canada will have to find a new home at another music store--if only there were such a service... No worries about your existing collection, Sony points out. They won't pull a Google or break into your PC and start deleting tracks--those songs are yours to keep. However, if you were unfortunate to have received some store credits from a well-meaning, but misguided aunt, Sony strongly recommends that you redeem like mad before the indefinite March cutoff.
