Montgomery County Public Libraries Offers free Dial-up Internet Access through Maryland Public Information Network |

Free Dial -up Internet Access from Maryland Public Information Network (Sailor) is now available to Montgomery County Public Libraries cardholders. To apply for the service, customers must fill out a Sailor Cruise Account request form at their local branches, sign the “Acceptable Use Agreement” on the back of the form and present the form -- with their valid and in-good-standing library card -- to the Circulation Desk. Applicants will be notified by their local branches when their account holder packet is ready for pickup. Cruise Accounts are good for 90 days and cannot be renewed, but customers may sign up several times, as long as only one account is maintained. Customers must have a personal computer with a modem and a phone line. The Sailor Help Desk provides support for dial-up using Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS-X operating systems.
