Michelle ‘Missy’ Avila Children Who Kill

Missy Avila was murdered on October 1st, 1985. She was only 17 years old. Her murder was cruel, she had been beaten and her hair had been cut off, then she was held under 5 inches of water in a shallow stream and drowned. Her murderers placed a 100lb. log over her back, to pin her in the water permanently and to be certain she was killed. For 3 years police and family hunted for her killer. Her best friend, Karen Severson, was quoted as saying “I loved Missy and I will not rest until I catch the animal that did this to my best friend.” For 3 years, no one suspected the truth. In 1988, a surprise witness came forward and for the first time, Missy’s loved ones found out what had really happened to Missy Avila.
