Entanglements? Calls in support of Maria Baier are being made to District 3 residents. The caller was unaware that Ms. Baier was listed as a Republican for Janet during the last gubernatorial race, when there was a well-qualified Republican on the ballot. Maria Baier served as a policy advisor, speechwriter and public information officer for the office of the governor—-under Govs.Symington and Hull. (We’ve been corrected by none other than former Republic reporter, Robbie Sherwood, who is a knowledgeable source.) As the sister of Phoenix Fire Chief, Bob Khan, would Baier recuse herself from issues relating to the fire department? That could amount to a lot of disqualifications on votes involving city concerns.
