M.I.A.’s “Kala” - The Remixes

Best Week Ever’s Dan Hopper commented yesterday on the seemingly impossibility of just kinda not loving M.I.A., but not hating her, “I wish I could say I had a stronger position on the great M.I.A. debate everyone seems to love her or hate her, but I think she's just kind of cool n' whatever. Mmmm, yummy baby bear porridge not taking any sides ” I’ve had a lengthy discussion about M.I.A.’s recent Kala with a number of my friends and the conclusion is just as Hopper suggested, you either love her or hate her. Adding more confusion to the mix are a number of (either awesome, or horrible depending on your previous stance) remixes that have popped up around the web which, for the most part, take aim at “Bird Flu” and “Boyz.” They’re not all the greatest, but I love M.I.A. and can’t help but love a number of these as well!
