Laura Pastor: Running for city council seat, collecting from national and worldwide donors

Congressman father is nothing to sneeze at ..a-a-choo The daughter of Arizona CD 4 Congressman Ed Pastor, appears to have some major problems, as many of her city council campaign donors are linked to her father's interests. Her required campaign finance reporting information on individual contributors is sketchy, with omissions on 18 percent of her reports, raising additional questions. Pastor failed to identify nearly half of her out-of-state donors. Laura Pastor, 37, seeking a council seat in District 7, has been endorsed by Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon. A first-time candidate, she has amassed more than 16 percent of her total contributions from out-of state donors, outstripping her council challengers and nudging the mayor. Candidate Pastor said she was unaware of any connections her contributors have with her father, saying she has friends all over the country.
