Larry Arnstein: You Shouldn't Always Say Everything You Think If You're Running For President

That was the take-away sound bite, thanks to Hillary Clinton, of last night's debate. Now there are some words to live by. Heck, you shouldn't always say everything you think if you want to get through a family dinner. Not to your spouse, not to your parents, not to your children. You certainly shouldn't always say everything you think at work, or in class. Not at any kind of social gathering, god forbid. Never mind running for president, if you want any peace and quiet at all, you shouldn't always say everything you think to yourself. In fact, I'd take it a little further. How about you shouldn't ever say anything you think if you're running for president. How about you shouldn't ever say anything you think, period. There would be a lot fewer ill-tempered debates, that's for sure. And as for being president, our enemies (and you shouldn't always say whom you think they might be) won't know what you're thinking, and neither will your friends. Certainly the voters won't know, and
