Ku Klux Klan Lessons and Jesus Fish in Jerusalem on Shabbos

There’s this family that has like 100 people eat at their house every Shabbat evening and lunch, the Machlis family. And you meet a lot of interesting people over there. Today I met a family from Kentucky who now lives in Arad. They were migrant workers with roots in Poland and England, who grew tobacco and eventually found themselves the only Jews in redneck central, Burksville, Kentucky. The Ku Klux Klan used to use their house for target practice but her sons weren’t the liberal stupid type like a lot of the New York Jews (I hate to say that because I am a proud Yankee) so they shot up their pickup trucks in return. There was a girl from Amsterdam also sitting next to us with her mother. I was looking at the mother’s scarf when I noticed it had the Jews for Jesus fish mixed with a menorah and Jewish star on it. Because I am of the antimissionary bent, having worked with them in both Brooklyn and Jerusalem, I was quite repulsed, but
