Jay Youngblood - June 21, 1955 - September 1, 1985 Born Steven Romero in June 21, 1955 he is a second generation wrestler to his father Ricky Romero. He is the brother to Mark and Chris Youngblood. Steven wanting to make a name for himself instead of running off his fathers career, which is why he chose the name Jay Youngblood. Youngblod started wrestling in 1979 with NWA, Jim Crockett’s Promtions and was regually teamed with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. In 1985 he wrestled with Pacific Northwest territory and Florida Championship Wrestling. Jay Youngblood and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked Youngblood and Steamboat #19 out of 100 tag teams of the “PWI Years” in 2003. PWI also ranked Youngblood # 308 of the 500 for singles wrestlers of the “PWI Years” in 2003. Rumors are that Youngblood ruptured his spleen during a match while he was touring in the South Pacific.
