Jane Asher alongside Sarah Jane - will there be cake?

Not much has been heard of the Sarah Jane Adventures since the excellent pilot on New Year's Day. Well they haven't gone away - in fact they're due to appear in the CBBC schedule in the autumn so kids of all ages don't have long to wait. News broke in the Sun yesterday (and was picked up first by the excellent Outpost Gallifrey) that Elisabeth Sladen will be joined in the first series by Jane Asher - actress, novelist, wife of celebrated cartoonist Gerald Scarfe and well-known maker of sugary party cakes. I'm not quite sure what I'm on tonight, but mention of cakes made me think immediately of the Skoda advert and begin to wonder whether Jane could whip us up a new TARDIS made entirely of sponge, cream, and blueberry icing. Time travel has never tasted so good.
