The issue at hand? Remembering to lower the toilet seat when he was done. "He's in too big a hurry to take care of that," she explained. So what did the fourth-grader do? Why, he invented a device to put the seat down for him.In fact, he invented a device that will lift the seat for him as well. "My mom was getting mad at me for forgetting to put the toilet seat down and she was falling in," he said, explaining the impetus for his invention. While at a doctor's office, Jake noticed a trash can with a foot operated lid and figured the same concept could be applied to toilets."Jake drew it all out and I supervised," said Jake's dad, Jason Wulf.
