In the midst of the storm

Well, Dolly is here and we (my husband, dog, and I) haven’t blown away yet. Has anyone read One Lucky Girl by George Ella Lyon? It’s a picture book about a family whose trailer is hit by a tornado. The baby of the house ends up missing, and a frantic search begins. Fortunately, a sibling finds the baby safe and sound in her crib in a nearby field. It’s an exciting book that elementary school kids would enjoy listening to. This is the first time I’ve gone through a hurricane as an adult. When I was a child living in Houston, TX, my family experience Hurricane Alicia back in the 80s. I can still remember my mom being a nervous wreck because my dad was out of town on business and she had three kids to take care of. She spent a lot of time on the phone with my grandma in Indiana. My brother, sister, and I were really weird children. While my mom was having a cow about the whole affair, we were having the time of our lives eating Pop-tarts
