In the upcoming special election to replace former Rep. Marty Meehan (D-MA) in Massachusetts s 5th congressional district, a SurveyUSA poll finds Nikki Tsongas well-positioned to win the Democratic primary and presumably a shoo-in for the general election. Tsongas leads with 38%, followed by Lowell City Councilor Eileen Donoghue, at 16%, State Representative Barry R. Finegold, at 14%, and State Representative Jamie Eldridge at 13%. [ Full article ] |
