Halo 3 Goes Offline With Upcoming Toys

Bungie recently unveiled some prototypes for toys based on Halo 3 that will be coming out soon at the San Diego Comic-Con. Chief among them are a Covenant plasma rifle, which looks almost exactly like the in-game version; and a plasma pistol which, well, doesn’t. They’ll be part of a game called Laser Pursuit, which is kind of like laser tag, except your power can recharge after you ve been hit, just like in the video game. However they will both use sound effects straight from the game, overheat when used too much, and the pistol will be able to charge up a power shot. Unfortunately there won’t be any plans to produce weapons from the UNSC side, as they would have to be made in bright colors, which wouldn’t look anywhere near realistic. These weapons should be hitting Hot Topic store in October 2007, while an Energy Sword will also make its way to shelves in 2008.
