Baier flier details support of Democrats and defectors Some readers have questioned the endorsements Republican for Janet, Maria Baier has received. Her recent campaign flyer lists her supporters, including U.S. Senators Kyl and McCain and Rep. Shadegg. These GOP stalwarts eagerly join Democrats former Phoenix Mayor, Paul Johnson and current liberal Democrat Mayor, Sanctuary City Phil Gordon. Also on the list of Maria Baier endorsers are defectors who joined the Democrat party after initially being elected as Republicans: Councilman Tom Simplot and former Attorney General Grant Woods rank as the Benedict Arnolds for Baier. These endorsement, along with those of Republicans State Senator Barbara Leff and Supervisor Andy Kunasek, serve to embitter the Republican grassroots workers and elected precinct committeemen who work tirelessly to elect Republicans—who then endorse Democrats.
