Quick note on what I find to be one of the more interesting criticisms of the Yearly Kos gathering -- that being the WaPo's insight (does it count as an insight if Gina tells it to you to your face?) that YK07 was mostly male and mostly white. It's true. It's something I'm sure we'd like to see change, but it's true. Grasping at anything they can get their hands on, several wingnut bloggers have latched onto this fact, linking to the WaPo piece as proof that we're... I don't know what, exactly. Hypocrites, I guess. Though I'm not sure why it's hypocritical to care about diversity even if you're not be able to create it on demand by instantly breaking down every socio-economic barrier in existence (and largely thanks to the snickering right, thank you very much) that would make such a gathering largely the province of the middle-class, middle-aged white male.
