He and Tom Coughlin continued to play phone tag, but they were not able to touch base for the second consecutive day. On the bright side, the Giants have scheduled a meeting with defensive end Simeon Rice for Monday. They may also take a look at 11-year veteran Marcellus Wiley.- On the field, Eli Manning was the one generating all the talk. If not for this Strahan situation, he would have been the big story on day one. And unfortunately, it would not have been good. As has been the case for the majority of his young career, he looked extremely inconsistent out there. One minute he'd make a remarkable throw only to follow it up with an awful pass into double coverage.- Other than Jared Lorenzen, all the quarterbacks were looking poor.
