Unknown British actress Gemma Arterton is the next Bond girl. The 22-year-old beat out 1500 other hopefuls to star opposite Daniel Craig in the next 007 franchise slated to begin filming in January for a November 2008 release. An insider at EON Productions said “Gemma has the modern look and fits perfectly with the new vulnerable image of Bond.” Arterton’s only other film credit is in “St. Trinian’s” where she beat out Sienna Miller for the the lead role of Kelly.
