Penn State handled the Tennessee Volunteers with an easy 20-10 victory back in January in the Outback bowl. Was it superior coaching during the game that won it for the Nittany Lions, or did video games have a little something to do with it? According to Paterno, their QB’s best game of the season was accomplished due to the fact that he started using football video games as a training tool. Penn State’s offensive plays were programmed into EA’s NCAA Football which gave Quarterback Anthony Morelli an easier way of learning the offensive plays and how to properly read defenses. Morelli completed 14-of-25 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown and finished the season with 3 wins in a row. He started using the video games for training just before the streak started. We all know football games get more and more realistic every year, and it looks like more football organizations are starting to use them for training players.
