Sometimes you get the luck of the draw. The rain we were expecting this weekend mostly stayed north of the city. Sticky weather will be here for the rest of the day and there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy downpours, this afternoon and evening. A high pressure system will be pushing the humidity out this evening, so tomorrow will be sunny. Both today and tomorrow will see highs in the 85-87 degree range. The remainder of the week will be warmer. Maximum temperatures from Wednesday through Saturday look like they will flirt with 90 degrees. Clear skies will be the rule until Friday, when high humidity and clouds should return. July has been running a couple degrees below normal in New York (that's not the case globally). There's only been two 90 degree days. That got Gothamist to wondering about the trends in extremely warm days.
