When you’re No. 1, you’ve got to work that much harder to stay at the top of the game. AT&T, firmly the leading US wireless carrier (as far as subscriber base goes), has recently been on a spending spree. With the recently green-lighted Dobson acquisition deal, it looks like AT&T is now looking to acquire online marketing firm Ingenio. With advertisers looking for more performance-based advertising outlets, Ingenio will help AT&T deliver targeted ads and track campaigns. “As advertisers add performance-based advertising to their marketing mix, this investment makes sense for our business,” said Ray Wilkins, AT&T group president-Diversified Business. “Ingenio’s technology will allow AT&T to expand our robust service portfolio for print, online and mobile advertisers, and that will further differentiate us from our competitors.” We’re hearing that AT&T is in negotiations with Ingenio, with plans to integrate it into [ Full article ] |
