Better late than never. John Edwards, after earlier hesitation noted in this blog, has issued a strong statement endorsing the traditional role of Iowa and New Hampshire. We can speculate as to why the previous position was taken, but it really doesn't matter. Edwards came home to his friends in our state. Ringing endorsements of our traditional role by the other candidates earlier preceded this development. They are repeated here in case you missed them. A special thanks to Joe Biden for being the first on board. Why is all this important? It is because ultimately the winning candidate determines who or who does not attend the national convention of the respective party. DNC sanctions against Iowa and New Hampshire going earlier are meaningless when the candidate reverses them.
