Filed under: AZ Cardinals, PhoenixFormer Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld testified today that he doesn't remember when he first found out the truth about the death of Cardinals safety-turned-Army Ranger Pat Tillman, but that he knows he wouldn't have engaged in any type of cover-up about Tillman's death. "I do not recall when I first learned that Corporal Tillman's death was fratricide," Mr. Rumsfeld said, adding that it was probably after May 20, 2004, when he was told by a colonel about the possibility of a "friendly fire" incident.... "I know that I would not engage in a cover-up," Mr. Rumsfeld told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform today. "I know that no one in the White House suggested such a thing to me." Whether Rumsfeld himself was part of it or not, there clearly was a cover-up, and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's hearing today was an attempt to find out how high the cover-up went.
