Commerce Dept to Run .US?

http://www.domainnews.com/registries/0320070717/us-department-of-commerce-wants-to-run-the-us-tld-registry/ It starts simple enough.. branch of government does what government branches do.. they run stuff.. all good.. Only wait! There's no traffic in the .US space .. Then at some point the DOC comes around to the realization that it's a .com world.. that's where the traffic is.. Could the DOC one day vie to run the dot com registry if VGRS screws up and oversteps its bounds? Stay tuned on this one.. lots of 'twists and turns' between here and there, but if they come around to running one namespace I predict the DOC or FTC one day tries to run another. It's a natural extension of the airwaves.
