But with all the recent recalls of toys made in China, Disney has decided to step up and be responsible for the toys they sell. Beginning in the next two weeks, The Walt Disney Company will begin independently testing toys and other children's products featuring their characters.This testing will involve newly manufactured toys, jewelry, furniture and other children's products as well as random testing of products already on the shelves in stores."It sends the message that we are looking over their shoulders," Disney consumer products division chairman Andy Mooney told The New York Times.Considering the fact that China lacks the safety standards the U.S. and other countries demand, perhaps they should have been looking over their shoulders all along.Read Permalink Email [ Full article ] |
