Jesus, the one with the authority to do so, had allowed my mother to live. After my mother recovered from her illness I often spoke to her about the Lord. I would read the Bible to her and tell her the things that Jesus said. She wasn't very receptive but she never told me to stop. She let me talk. So I kept talking. I was often discouraged, and wanted to give up, but I continued to share God's word with her. And I prayed. I prayed that the Lord would open her eyes. For years I prayed, and the Lord gave me an intense love for her, almost similar to the love a person has for their little grandchildren. In 2001 she had a stroke that left her right side completely paralyzed. She went into a nursing home the day before “September 11th“, and during the almost six years that she was there I saw her heart soften. She would listen with rapt attention as I read passages of scripture to her. She let the family know that she didn't want a Mass when she died. She said she
