David Archuleta Signs a Record Deal

Not surprisingly, American Idol runner-up David Archuleta has secured a record deal. Archuleta has signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, the same record label that sports other Idol winners and runners-up, including current champ David Cook, Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, and past runners-up Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken. “Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true,” states Archuleta. “Being a fan of American Idol since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I’m really excited to start working on everything.” An Archuleta debut album is expected to be released later this year. Hopefully, producers will be able to keep Archuleta Sr. out of the recording studio. I want to see what David can do without his father’s ‘assistance’. The boy is going to go far, but I think he can soar if daddy dearest quits
