The New York Mets got Jeff Conine from the Cincinnati Reds for two minor leaguers on Monday, adding a 41-year-old player who has two World Series rings and knows how to contribute off the bench.The Mets made a dramatic comeback against the SD Padres. They lead 4-1 against one of the best pitchers, Chris Young. Sosa came in to blow the lead to make it 5-4 Padres. The Mets tied it with a Beltran single (had 5 RBI with a homer) and Wagner blew it in the top of the 9th to make it 6-5. Lastings Milledge lead off with a single in the bottom of the 9th, DiFelice sacrificed him over to second. Marlon "The Hit Machine" Anderson comes off the bench and singles in the run to tie it at 6. Reyes singled to center to move Anderson to second and Castillo drove in the winning run with a single. All in All, it was a great game and it could be a preview to the first round of the playoffs.
