Impressive video of an impressive man GOP Presidential candidate, Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), is a determined advocate regarding implementation of border fencing to address issues of national security and crime. His San Diego district was the number one smuggler corridor in America when he wrote the law authorizing building the border fence. The 14 mile double fence built in San Diego resulted in a reduction of people and narcotics smuggling by more than 90 percent. The accompanying crime rate fell in the city of San Diego by 53 percent. Obviously, the barriers work. The law authorizes 854 miles of fencing through heavily trafficked portions of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. To date, President Bush has only completed 13 miles of one layer of that fence.
