It has been reported in today's Daily Mirror that Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is set to bid for Rangers striker Kris Boyd if the Scotish side fail to qualify for the knock out stages of the Champions League.Boyd was brought to Glasgow by McLeish when he was in charge at Ibrox and McLeish is said to be very keen on linking back up with him at Birmingham.Boyd has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past and with McLeish on the look out for a new striker in January, Boyd could be the man for the job.I really want to see how Boyd would do in the Premier League because a lot of players come down from Scotland with big reputations in the SPL and fail to live up to expectations.Take Shaun Maloney for instance.
