California Brings Driving School to YouTube

The California DMV has taken to the YouTube craze. That does sound crazy indeed. But it didn’t stop there. It’s doing the whole social networking rounds, creating a profile on MySpace. The whole shebang. It’s rolling out helpful videos (the most amusing of which seem to be the ones of people that fail their road test), traffic trivia, and a Q&A for those pressing questions that California Residents may have. Now this all seems a bit drab for the concept and virality of social networking, but you’ve got to admit that the DMV has taken some steps towards leveraging the Internet to make our lives easier. We’ve got online renewals for licenses, and a nice layout of all the documents we’ll need to bring to the DMV when we have time to spend all day there.
