Now that he will plead guilty and awaits sentencing, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has managed to make everyone living outside San Francisco forget how much they loathe Barry Bonds. I would imagine only handful of individuals who do not participate in the barbarism of dog fighting would condone what Vick did -- and that would have more to do with blind allegiance to Vick than anything else. Like O.J., the Vick story blurred the lines of commentary such that one could not distinguish if they were reading the editorial page or the sports section. The N.F.L. is understandably concerned; Vick apparently lied to the league office as well as the owner of the Atlanta Falcons who was willing to pay him up to $130 million.
