Burg Theater Watch: Metropolitan Cinema & Apts. Rising Fast

We know all about the hype now surrounding the Brooklyn Bowl, but what about that other Big Burg Entertainment Thing, the Metropolitan Cinema & Apartments? They'd been stalled so long (partly by a Stop Work Order) that it looked like it was never going to happen, but the structure--which is an add-on to an existing one, has now hit five stories. (Check the progress since April.) Yes, it's just steel and some floors at the moment, but there's going to be three-screen indie theater and the new construction will have a zinc facade with "a natural patina and an irregular array of cast glass disks illuminated from behind with LED lights."
