Filed under: Browns, NFL Gossip, ClevelandNFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has ruffled a lot of feathers with his law-and-order approach to the job, but Browns defensive tackle Ted Washington is one player who likes how Goodell has handed his year in the corner office:"I'd be doing the same thing if I was commissioner. I think he's done a hell of a job. I'd clean up the game too. I'd tell those young guys: 'All right, you want to play the fool? Fine. I'm taking your money.'"Washington is 39 years old and heading into his 17th season in the league, and it's interesting that he specifically refers to "those young guys." There seems to be something of a generation gap in the NFL, with older players in many cases believing that the younger players are dragging down the league's reputation. Note: Washington is listed at 375 pounds and probably weighs more. That he's still playing at age 39 tells me that he must have the world's most durable knees.Permalink Email this Comments [ Full article ] |
