Kudos Department: Owen Nolan played his 1,000th NHL game Monday night! The media in hockey-mad Montreal has gotten to Alex Kovalev. "Everybody knows nothing is going on and everything is fine between me and Guy Carbonneau," says Kovalev. "The media is trying to have a competition with each other and twists words around."Carbonneau endorses Kovalev's statement. "The media have way more problems with me and Kovy than we do with me and him," says Carbonneau. "Good players always like to speak their minds and have their own opinions and it's going to happen sometimes that something is going to come out, but I have no problems with him." It'll be interesting to see which direction the Thrashers owners go in terms of a new head coach. Will they insist that Don Waddell remain behind the bench through 2007-08 or will they let the GM select a new mentor?One question we're asking centers on the team's leadership.
