I do try and avoid “me too” posts wherever possible but I do feel that this particular issue is important to Wordpress users (which I have been talking a lot about recently) and as such it needs to get to the user base as quickly as possible. A recent article in Technorati has highlighted that Vulnerable WordPress Blogs Not Being Indexed by Technorati and that users should upgrade to a later version - and preferably version 2.5. The particular vulnerability was described in the Wordpress.org Blog article “WordPress 2.3.3” and affects sites that have registration enabled. The article goes on to say “Even if you haven’t been afflicted by a compromise, by the time you are aware that you have been a number of negative consequences may have already occurred (for instance, flagged spam by Technorati, Google or Yahoo!) — this has been reported by many WordPress users.” Weblog tools collection are also running an article “Vulnerable [ Full article ] |
