There was a pretty big deal made about the Democrat’s recent CNN/YouTube debate held in South Carolina. It’s been likened to presidential candidate debates first being brought to television. See our highlights here. Considering the younger demographic that is generally drawn to YouTube, it’s no surprise that the Democrats were willing to hold an interactive debate on the video-sharing site. There’s now much criticism that the Republicans aren’t following suite. There are reports that Sen. John McCain and Rep. Ron Paul from Texas have agreed to participate in CNN’s next online debate, but so far, that’s about it. Some known Republican bloggers are encouraging Republican Presidential candidates to jump on the bandwagon, and many are calling specifically for Rudolph Giuliani and Mitt Romney.
