I recently read an article (written awhile ago) stating that the historic peace churches “for the first time since the Vietnam War” were making preparations in case the draft was ever reinstated. “We are probably one terrorist attack — one 9/11 — away from a draft,” said Dan McFadden, director of Brethren Volunteer Service in Elgin, Ill.” These leaders are preparing programs where conscientious objectors can perform alternative service rather than join the military. According to Jesus Christ, all Christian churches should be peace churches rather than just a select few. Beware of those who teach otherwise.
